There are so many essential oils and with many uses that it can be overwhelming to decide which one to focus upon to get desired results. Face is the first thing that most people notice about you, a canvas where your emotions are displayed and what you perhaps worry about most; so here are some curated recipes for using essential oils on your face and keeping it moisturized, glowing and healthy!
Calming Face Mist
Take a dark bottle with a spray pump.
- Put 3 ounces of distilled water
- Add 20 drops of roseship seed oil
- Add 10 drops of lavender essential oil
Mix gently by rolling between the palms. The calming mist is ready and you could use it as a spritz three times a day and refresh yourself!
Lavender essential oil is a top choice due to its antibacterial, calming properties as well as a great fragrance. Frankincense essential oil acts as a great antiseptic and helps the skin not break out in acne or pimples due to hormonal changes. Here is an anti-aging recipe that mixes the two essential oils.

- 10 ml jojoba oil
- 10 ml roseship oil
- 20 drops of Frankincense essential oil

Skin tightening face serum
Vetiver helps in skin tightening, reducing dark spots and evens out the skinntone. Vetiver also called as "Khus" in Ayurveda is extracted from the root of the plant native to India and when used with a carrier oil on face helps in tightening and attaining an even skin tone. It has a deep, cooling, earthy scent.
- 2 drops of Vetiver essential oil
- 10 drops of Jojoba carrier oil
- Mix well in a dark bottle and apply topically once every day on face
Soothing face mask
The benefits of other oils are highlighted above. Adding patchouli essential oil helps in maintaining vibrancy of the skin and giving it a smooth look.
- 1 tsp raw honey
- 1 tsp facial clay
- 1 tsp jojoba oil
- 2 drops frankincense oil
- 2 drops patchouli oil
- 1/2 tsp water
- 5 drops argan oil
Mix all the ingredients in a bowl. Add extra water to get the desired consistency. Apply on a clean face for about 15 minutes, Then wash it off with lukewarm water and pat dry. Take about 5 drops of argan oil and rub it gently between your palms and then apply to face to moisturize.
